AEW is set to return to Queens, New York, this September with their highly anticipated Grand Slam event, as confirmed by Andrew Zarian. The date for this exciting occasion is Wednesday, September 20th, and it will be held at the renowned Arthur Ashe Stadium, known for hosting the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
Although the company has yet to make an official announcement, today marks the one-year anniversary since they confirmed the date and announced the ticket sales for the second installment of Grand Slam.
This upcoming Grand Slam event will be the third installment of its kind, making it a notable tradition for AEW. The inaugural Grand Slam event in 2021 was a monumental success, as it marked AEW’s groundbreaking foray into stadium shows. The gate revenue came close to reaching the remarkable milestone of $1 million, reaching an impressive sum of $960,000. However, last year’s event managed to surpass the $1 million mark in gate revenue, despite having a slightly smaller attendance of 13,800 fans, with 12,600 of them being paid attendees.
