Tony Khan kicked off the second hour of this week’s AEW Dynamite with a major announcement that AEW Rampage on August 20 will take place at the United Center in Chicago, IL.
Immediately after that announcement, fans in the building began chanting CM Punk’s name.
The announcement was followed up with a backstage interview with Darby Allin and Sting. The former TNT Champion said there’s no better place than Chicago to prove that they’re the greatest wrestler alive, “even if you think you are the Best in the World.”
Rampage will mark the first time AEW will run the city’s biggest indoor venue, which is home to the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks.
