AJ Styles announced today on Twitter that the injury he suffered at the WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania is a broken ankle.
The good news for Styles is that he will not need surgery, but he will be required to stay out of the ring for the longest period in his career.
The injury occurred while wrestling in a trios match. Styles was teaming with The OC against The Judgement Day, when Styles did a spot over the top rope to the outside and landed awkwardly. The referee stopped the match and threw up the “X” sign. Styles could be seen grabbing his left leg/ankle and ended up needing assistance to the backstage area.
Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I’ve ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.
