Bayley wins the Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Bayley won this year’s 30-Woman Royal Rumble match, achieving a new record for the longest duration in a women’s Royal Rumble match. She surpassed 29 other WWE stars to win a championship match at WrestleMania 40 in April.

The match kicked off with Natalya entering as the first contestant and Naomi making a surprise appearance as the second. This event marked Naomi’s return to WWE after she and Sasha Banks left the company in November 2022. The live audience greeted Naomi with enthusiastic “welcome back” chants.

At number 5, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made an unexpected entrance. Grace, who had recently triumphed over Naomi in TNA, shared a moment with her before engaging in a brawl. Demonstrating incredible strength, Grace took down every other competitor in the match.

Indi Hartwell, entering as the sixth contestant, came to the aid of her ally LeRae. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka made her entrance at number 7.  Ivy Nile and Katana Chance followed as entrants number 8 and 9. Grace and Nile captivated the audience with a display of strength, holding Chance and LeRae in prolonged vertical suplexes. Bianca Belair, entering at number 10, immediately targeted Damage CTRL. Kairi Sane came in at number 11, as Damage CTRL coordinated a three-on-one attack on Belair.

Damage CTRL teamed up to eliminate LeRae. Tegan Nox, who entered at number 12, managed to oust Natalya but was quickly thrown over by Bayley. Kayden Carter came in as the 13th entrant. Sane and Asuka, recent losers of the women’s tag titles on Friday’s SmackDown, were eliminated by Karter and Chance, respectively. Belair spectacularly eliminated Grace with a powerful KOD onto the ring apron. Chelsea Green, entering at number 14, was unexpectedly caught mid-air and saved from elimination by her tag team partner Piper Niven, who entered at number 15.

Following them were Xia Li at number 16, Zelina Vega at 17, and Maxxine Dupri. In a humorous highlight, Belair placed Vega on Niven for a Code Red, but Vega struggled to complete the move until Belair delivered a kick to Niven’s face. Shortly after, Niven resisted an attempt to eliminate her by multiple competitors and managed to eliminate Carter from the match.

Nia Jax, entering as the 19th contestant, made an immediate impact by eliminating both Li and Carter. Shotzi entered the match at number 20. The entire field made an effort to push Jax out of the match, but she showed her strength and stayed in. Shortly afterwards, Bayley ousted Dupri, and Jax eliminated Niven and Chance. The crowd erupted for Becky Lynch at number 21, who fiercely took on all opponents and eliminated Green. Alba Fyre then joined the match as entrant number 22.

Shayna Baszler entered at number 23. As Valhalla was about to make her entrance at number 24, R-Truth humorously interrupted, mistakenly believing it was the Men’s Royal Rumble match. He comically asked, “Where are the guys?” before Nia Jax swiftly eliminated him. When Valhalla finally entered the match, she was quickly eliminated by Jax, tying her with Chelsea Green for the shortest stint in a women’s Rumble match.

Naomi eliminated Fyre. Zoey Starks at No. 25. Starks and Baszler worked together to eliminate Vega. Roxanne Perez entered at No. 26. Jax eliminated Baszler, Michin and Shotzi back to back. No. 28 to a massive pop from the crowd was Jade Cargill. She immediately squared off with Jax, hoisting her up and tossing her over the rope.

Tiffany Stratton made her entrance into the Rumble as the 29th contestant, followed by a surprise return from Liv Morgan at number 30. This marked Morgan’s first appearance since being sidelined with a storyline shoulder injury inflicted by the women’s world champion, Rhea Ripley.

At the end of the match, Bayley and Morgan teamed up to assault Jade on the apron, following which Morgan eliminated Jade, and then Bayley quickly turned the tables to eliminate Morgan to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
