Bray Wyatt and LA Knight battled in the first-ever Pitch Black match at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Wyatt arrived sporting a new look: black eye make-up and eye contacts. The lights in the arena cut out, revealing a glow-in-the-dark theme to the match as Wyatt had neon paint on, and Knight had neon ring attire.
The match quickly spilled to the outside as Wyatt pursued and punished Knight. Wyatt attempted to suplex Knight over the barricade onto steel steps, but Knight escaped. Later, Knight had a glow-in-the-dark kendo stick, but Wyatt was able to hit him with the Sister Abigail for the win.
After the match, Wyatt chased Knight around the arena as Knight repeatedly hit Wyatt with a kendo stick, which Wyatt no-sold. Wyatt finally caught Knight him and choked him out with a mandible claw. The mysterious Uncle Howdy then emerged on an elevated platform and threw himself down onto LA Knight as fire erupted and Wyatt’s cast of characters watching on.
