Edge Defeats Seth Rollins by Submission at WWE SummerSlam

Edge’s ring entrance was a throwback to his days with The Brood, rising out of the stage surrounded by fire as the late 1990s Brood music played.

Once the two legends got to the ring, they stared at each other for a bit and then finally locked up, and Edge dropped him with a hard right and a devilish grin. Rollins immediately targeted Edge’s neck and Rollins’ focus did not change, throwing Edge neck-first into the ring post and the ring steps.

The theme of the match was Edge’s neck. Edge fought back with punches to the midsection, though Rollins hit a Sling Blade on Edge, doing more damage to his neck.

Rollins then set up for a Curb Stomp but Edge got to the ropes. Rollins went for a pin but Edge kicked out, followed by taunting from Rollins. Rollins caught Edge on the side of the head with a big knee, but Edge kicked out of the ensuing pin.

Later in the match, Edge hit a spear in the middle of the ring but Rollins was able to kick out before hitting a superkick to Edge’s neck and then waited for the Curb Stomp, but Edge caught his footing knocked him down, and then locked in the Edgecator.

It was locked in and Rollins reached for the ropes, but Edge dragged him back. Edge was finally able to pick up a win with a crossface sleeper forcing Rollins to tap out.
