Edge expected to take absence away from WWE TV

Following last night’s attack on RAW at the hands of The Judgement Day, Edge is expected to take a prolonged absence from WWE TV.

Edge faced off against Dominik Mysterio in a singles match. The match was called off due to Judgment Day’s interference. Dominik then took a few chair shots at Edge’s knee and set up Edge’s knee under a chair so Balor could jump onto it with a Coup de Grace.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Edge’s contract is for limited dates and this may be WWE’s way of not having Edge on TV and savings his dates to build for a big a show.

“The thing with Edge though is, because he’s got a limited contract so he’s not around weekly, it felt like this was another injury angle,” said Meltzer.

With the Saudi Arabia show coming, it seems likely that the plan is for Edge to miss Extreme Rules on October 8, before returning for a match at Crown Jewel on November 5.
