Freestyle wrestling Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson has been “officially removed from the NXT roster.” Steveson is still listed on NXT’s online roster page.
Steveson had initially planned to participate in this month’s Senior World Wrestling Championships in Serbia but withdrew earlier this week. The reason for Steveson’s decision to no longer compete in the event remains unclear at this time.
Steveson made his inaugural WWE in ring during the Great American Bash event in June. His opponent was Baron Corbin. The bout was relatively brief, lasting only 6 minutes and 34 seconds, ultimately concluding in a double countout.
To the disappointment of the crowd, some fans expressed their frustration by chanting displeasure at the match’s conclusion. Steveson has not been featured on NXT TV since that event, and there have been no mentions of his involvement in the WWE.
