The main event of AEW Full Gear featured Kenny Omega putting his AEW World Championship on the line against “Hangman” Adam Page.
At the end of the match, Page hit the One Winged Angel but Omega kicked out. Page then hit the Buckshot to the back of Omega’s head. Matt Jackson, who had been one of Hangman’s biggest critics throughout his downward spiral, teased interfering but nodded as Page hit the Buckshot Lariat on Kenny Omega and pinned him to become the NEW AEW World Champion.
The victory was a culmination of a storyline over two years old, as Page had spent years going through an emotional journey of heartbreak and self-doubt before finally winning the Championship.
