CM Punk vs. MJF has been announced for the Feb. 2 episode of AEW Dynamite from Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
CM Punk came out on the Jan. 26 Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite for a promo, but he came out in Cleveland dressed for a fight. And you know who he wanted to fight. Punk said he was tired of talking, and after successfully defeating FTR, Wardlow and Shawn Spears he finally wanted a fight with MJF.
MJF interrupted Punk’s promo and said next week in Chicago, the fans will see the real CM Punk. MJF then claimed Punk would quit after he lost. After mentioning him leaving the WWE and his infamous podcasts with Colt Cabana from November 2014, MJF promised Punk would prove how he really only cares about himself.
Punk responded with a fiery babyface promo about owning his decisions, and always getting back up. He then continued to dare MJF to fight him tonight, but MJF instead sent out the rest of The Pinnacle, who beat down Punk before Wardlow powerbombed him onto a steel chair.
