Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE set to make a significant announcement on June 16

This weekend, WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH are set to make a “major announcement” at NOAH’s Grand Ship 2024 show in Yokohama, Japan on Sunday, June 16. NOAH teased the announcement on social media, also hinting at a special message from a notable wrestler.

Yasuaki Okamoto, the new president of CyberFight, which oversees Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT, and Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, recently expressed his intention to strengthen ties with WWE. This announcement appears to be a significant step in that direction.

WWE is making a return to Japan next month for the first time since 2019, with three house shows scheduled from July 25-27 in Osaka and Tokyo.

The Grand Ship 2024 event will feature Kaito Kiyomiya defending his GHC Heavyweight Championship against NJPW’s Gabe Kidd. The show will be broadcast live on Wrestle Universe with English commentary and streamed in Japan on Abema, WWE’s broadcast partner in the country.
