Prosecutors drop Cash Wheeler’s assault with deadly weapon case

Prosecutors in Florida have dropped the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon case against AEW’s Cash Wheeler.

The decision was formalized with a ‘Nolle Prosequi’ notice, a Latin term meaning “decline to pursue,” filed in the Ninth Circuit Court in Orange County. This notice ended the legal action without providing a reason for the dismissal.

The case, originating from a road rage incident on July 27, 2023, where Wheeler allegedly flashed a gun at another driver, was set to go to a pre-trial hearing. Wheeler had maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, pleading not guilty, and had been granted bond under specific conditions including no contact with the victim and the surrender of any weapons.
