Report: CM Punk’s AEW return may be on the June Chicago Dynamite

The latest report from Fightful Select suggests that the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, which is set for Wintrust Arena in Chicago, could be the time and place for CM Punk’s AEW return.

“What we’ve learned since then is as of April 13, the working plan has been for CM Punk to return at that show, or at the very least around it. There were also pitches of announcing it well ahead of time, even around the Warner Upfronts.”

The outlet stresses that nothing is set in stone yet and things may end up changing, though plans had started coming together prior to even the earlier report.

Punk has been out of AEW since being served an indefinite suspension after his All Out 2022 brawl with Omega and The Bucks. Punk, through friend and fellow AEW wrestler Dax Harwood, has made it known he’d like to resume wrestling and is said to want to work with Omega and The Bucks upon his return.

As for the Punk/Omega/Bucks relationship, there hasn’t been any contact between the two sides but that Punk has been trying to set up a meeting with all four. There was also reportedly a meeting planned between Punk and Chris Jericho, to see if the two could work together. Jericho has been openly criticized Punk in the past, calling Punk a “locker room cancer.”
