Report: WWE Parts Ways with Kevin Patrick

Report: Kevin Patrick released by WWE

Kevin Patrick has been released from the WWE, according to a report by PWInsider. This news arrives following Dave Meltzer’s earlier confirmation of Patrick’s exit from his position on the SmackDown commentary team. As of now, WWE has not named a successor for Patrick’s role.

Kevin Patrick, whose real name is Kevin Egan, Patrick joined WWE around early 2021. Prior to joining WWE, he had a background in sports broadcasting, which included working with various sports networks and covering soccer in the United States.

Patrick initially served on the Raw commentary team before transitioning to SmackDown in August 2023, where he was part of a three-person commentary team alongside Corey Graves and Michael Cole. WWE’s strategy in pairing Patrick with Cole aimed to help him in his development as a broadcaster.

Until recently, Cole provided commentary for both Raw and SmackDown, before shifting exclusively to Raw earlier this month. This left SmackDown with a commentary duo of Patrick and Graves in the past few weeks.
