Rhea Ripley wins the Women’s Royal Rumble after entering at #1

Rhea Ripley, selling the spear she took from Beth Phoenix earlier during the men’s Rumble match, drew the No. 1 spot. Liv Morgan entered at No. 2 after demanding to start the Rumble.

Bayley entered the Rumble at No. 6. The women’s first surprise entrant was NXT women’s champion Roxanne Perez at No. 8. The Texas-born superstar received a nice reaction from the in San Antonio crowd in the Alamodome.

Becky Lynch joined the match at No. 15 and immediately started to battle Kai and Sky before stomping Bayley. Tegan Knox (No. 16) then entered the match and toppled multiple women while teaming with Liv Morgan for tandem combinations.

Asuka was No. 17 and she was wearing clown-like face paint and contact lenses. The look is a nod to her character she portrayed in Japan prior to joining WWE. Piper Niven, previously known as Doudrop, hit the ring at No. 18. The announcers made jokes of her old name as she laid waste in the ring.

Chelsea Green made her long-awaited WWE return at No. 20. after being released form the company in 2021. Green was promptly eliminated by Ripley in a record-setting five seconds for a women’s Rumble.

Zelina Vega entered 21st and Michael Cole plugged her involvement with the new Street Fighter 6 game. Becky Lynch tossed out women’s tag team champions Kai and Sky, before Bayley got revenge by eliminating Lynch. Bayley was then promptly tossed over the ropes by Morgan during the chaos.

Michelle McCool who has been sitting front row with her children watching the Royal Rumble was the 25th entrant. McCool tore off her clothes to reveal wrestling gear underneath. She said bye to her kids and and hopped the barricade to get into the match. Indi Hartwell entered 26th. Sonya Deville entered 27th.

Nia Jax returned to the to the WWE as #30 in the Royal Rumble. Everyone in the ring turned their attention to her and about 10 women went after her as Nia shoved them all aside. A few women hit Jax with moves before Ripley hit her with a Riptide. Everyone then teamed up to eliminate Jax.

The final three were Asuka, Morgan and Ripley. Asuka tried to blow mist into Ripley’s eyes on the apron but Ripley ducked and Morgan was blinded. Ripley then eliminated Asuka. The final two were Morgan and Ripley. Morgan couldn’t see but she still almost eliminated Ripley. Ripley then snatch Morgan’s head and flip Morgan onto the floor for the win. Ripley will now get a world title shot at WrestleMania 39.
