At WWE SummerSlam, Seth Rollins defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
Balor wastes no time and launches a surprise attack from behind during Rollins’ intro, catching the champion off guard. The animosity between them fuels an intense exchange of right hands, but Rollins gains the upper hand with a sharp elbow strike.
Balor shows his resilience and retaliates with fierce strikes, landing stomps on the chest of the reigning champion. Balor taunts the hostile crowd and sets up another devastating chest stomp with a series of powerful right hands.

Balor sought vengeance for the injury he endured in 2016 by relentlessly targeting Rollins’ arm and shoulder with submission holds. Balor then delivered a forceful buckle bomb, leaving no doubt about his intentions to make Rollins pay for the past.
The storyline came full circle as Rollins retaliated with a pair of buckle bombs inside the ring, mirroring the move that caused Balor’s injury seven years prior at SummerSlam. The match reached a tense moment when Rollins narrowly avoided a Coup de Grace and swiftly responded with a Pedigree, nearly securing the victory.
The stakes escalated as Damian Priest, the Money in the Bank briefcase holder and Balor’s Judgement Day teammate, made his way to the ring. Priest’s intervention saw him delivering a powerful punch to Rollins, paving the way for Balor to execute his own version of the Pedigree, resulting in a close near fall that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio then made their presence felt, seemingly coming to aid Balor. The chaos further escalated when Damian Priest tossed his Money in the Bank briefcase into the ring, much to Balor’s dismay. Rollins cunningly took advantage of the distraction caused by Priest and brutally curb stomped Balor’s head through the briefcase for the win. The match ended with Priest glaring at Rollins, showing little regard for Balor’s well-being.
