Sting and Darby Allin have won the AEW Tag Team Championship titles, overcoming Big Bill and Ricky Starks on AEW Dynamite. This victory marked their first title win as a duo, also maintaining Sting’s personal winning streak alongside their collective undefeated record.
The end of the match saw Allin executing a move that sent both him and Bill crashing through a table. Starks then managed to break free from the scorpion deathlock, only for Sting to secure the victory with a decisive scorpion death drop.
The celebration of Sting and Allin’s victory was abruptly interrupted by The Young Bucks, who stormed the ring and launched an attack using baseball bats. The Bucks, Nicholas and Matthew, had been vocal about their desire to face Sting and Allin since their return to the company in January.
Bill and Starks’s reign as champions came to an end after 123 days, having previously defeated FTR on the October 7th edition of Collision. The challenge for the Tag Team titles was initiated by Allin on the January 24th episode of Dynamite, where he asked Sting to team up for the titles, leading to the eventual acceptance of their challenge by the then-champions backstage.
