The KO Show segment with Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin closed out WWE WrestleMania 38 night One.
Kevin Owens came to the ring for the planned “KO Show” segment. Owens went on to say that maybe he went too far with his anti-Texas trash talk. He then said he was sorry for “telling the absolute god’s honest truth” about the state and that Texas is even worse than he remembered.
That’s when Austin’s music hit and the Texas Rattlesnake came out to an enormous pop from the Texas crowd. After soaking in the reaction on the stage, Austin left and returned on an ATV, circling the ring before entering and going corner to corner celebrating.
Austin and KO sat in their seats and the interview got started. After some back and fourth, KO told Austin that he lied about wanting a talk. KO said he wants a fight. He then challenged Austin to his first match in 19 years to a No Holds Barred match. KO said Austin knows he can’t beat him. He said Austin should stop embarrassing himself and he can get on his little golf cart and back to his “stupid ranch.”
Austin said that he had his first match in Dallas, Texas and he could have his last match in Dallas, Texas. Austin asked for a “hell yea” if the fans wanted to see him against “this sack of shit.” Austin asked for a referee to get the match started.
The two men started off trading punches before Austin stomped a mudhole in Owens while he was down in the corner. Later in the match Austin tossed Owens into the crowd and they brawled before Austin attempted a suplex on the floor but Owens countered and he suplexed Austin onto the concrete.
Towards the end of the match the action returned to the ring. Owens hit a stunner out of nowhere after Austin chugged a few beers but Austin managed to kick out. Owens thenleft the ring to grab a steel chair but missed Austin, hitting himself in the face as the chair rebounded off the top rope. Austin hit a stunner, scoring the pinfall to win the match.
