Terry Funk has passed away at 79 years old

Terry Funk, a WWE Hall of Famer and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, has sadly passed away at the age of 79.

Mick Foley shared on social media that Funk’s daughter, Brandee personally confirmed this news to him.

“Terry Funk is gone. I just talked to Terry’s daughter, Brandee, who gave me the awful news,” Foley wrote. “He was my mentor, my idol, one of (my) closest friends. He was the greatest wrestler I ever saw.”

Terry Funk was a renowned professional wrestler and actor. He was born on June 30, 1944. Throughout his career, Funk gained fame for his contributions to the wrestling world, particularly in the hardcore and brawler styles.

He was known for his toughness and ability to connect with the audience. Funk competed in various wrestling promotions, including the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), among others.
