The Rock named Daytona 500 grand marshal

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to give the command to start engines for the 66th running of the Daytona 500.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will serve as the grand marshal for the 2024 Daytona 500, giving the command for drivers to fire their engines for the event that is NASCAR’s most important even on Sunday, Feb. 18. With the four most famous words in motorsports, the 51-year-old actor and professional wrestler will get the cars rolling for NASCAR’s crown jewel event.

The 2024 NASCAR Cup season begins with the Daytona 500, featuring Ricky Stenhouse Jr. as the reigning champion. The reveal came Sunday during the NFL’s NFC Championship game on FOX — which means wrestling fans may also hear it promoted during the next few episodes of SmackDown.
