The Rock’s “Who Killed WCW?” Docuseries Premieres This Week on Vice TV

The docuseries “Who Killed WCW?” will premiere on June 4, 2024 on Vice TV, covering the rise and fall of WCW.

The series features interviews with The Rock, Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff, Konnan, Madusa, and more. Executive produced by The Rock and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions, it will explore the complex factors behind WCW’s downfall, including management challenges, creative decisions, and the Monday Night Wars.

Ted Turner founded WCW in 1988, establishing it as a major competitor to Vince McMahon’s WWE. WCW’s Monday Nitro frequently outperformed WWE’s Monday Night Raw in TV ratings. At its peak, WCW was WWE’s arch-rival, but a series of business errors led to significant financial losses. Despite Eric Bischoff’s efforts to save the company, it was ultimately shut down in 2001. Vince McMahon then purchased WCW and merged it with WWE, ending WCW’s tumultuous journey.

The series is produced by Vice Studios Canada in association with Bell Media’s Crave and will premiere on Tuesday.
