Triple H kicks off WWE Backlash France weekend

Triple H, the Chief Content Officer of WWE, kicked off WWE Backlash weekend energizing the audience in Lyon, France for the event. Backlash takes place this Saturday and features a match card with only five matches, but four of those matches are championship bouts, with the other featuring some of the biggest stars in WWE.

In the main event of Backlash, Cody Rhodes will defend the undisputed WWE championship against AJ Styles for the first time on TV since winning it from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Although Rhodes and Styles have similar career paths, this marks their first ever singles or tag match against each other.

Additionally, two more world titles will be contested. Damian Priest will defend the world heavyweight championship against Jey Uso, who is seeking his first singles title. Bayley will also defend the WWE women’s championship in a triple threat match against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton.
