Former WWE chairman Vince McMahon, who stepped down in July amid a sexual misconduct scandal, is facing legal demands from two women who allege that he sexually assaulted them.
In a Nov. 3 demand letter to Mr. McMahon’s representative, a lawyer for former wrestling referee Rita Chatterton asked for $11.75 million in damages after she publicly accused Mr. McMahon three decades ago of raping her in a limousine. In a separate November email to Mr. McMahon’s attorney, a lawyer for a former spa manager said that Mr. McMahon assaulted his client in 2011 at a California resort – an allegation not previously reported in the media
In total, McMahon has paid more than $12 million to four women over the past 16 years to get them to keep quiet about allegations of McMahon’s sexual misconduct and infidelity.
In July, McMahon announced that he was retiring as CEO and chairman of WWE after the company launched an investigation into alleged hush money payments he made to several women.
