WWE Chairman Vince McMahon took to Twitter to welcome back the WWE Universe.
McMahon wrote, “For over a year and a half, we have waited. This weekend, we once again welcome the @WWE Universe back!”
For 16 months, WWE has been running shows without fans (with the exception of WrestleMania 37’s limited crowd) since the start of the pandemic at the WWE Performance Center and later at the ThunderDome in various arenas across Florida.
This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which is set to emanate from the Toyota Center in Houston, will be the first episode of Raw or SmackDown since the March 9, 2020 to have fans in attendance.
