Rhea Ripley makes her Monday Night Raw debut and challenges Asuka to a match for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
Asuka had just defeated Peyton Royce in a non-title match. After the bell, Ripley’s music hit and she stepped out confidently, admitting the Empress of Tomorrow has proven she’s the best, before pointing out that Charlotte Flair appears to be out of the WrestleMania picture after testing positive for Covid. Rhea then threw down the gauntlet, with Asuka happy to accept.
Asuka and Ripley have only ever shared a ring in the 15-woman Survivor Series match pitting Raw, SmackDown, and NXT against each other at the 2019 event. This is a first-time-ever singles match.
