WWE plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hulkamania

WWE will commemorate Hulk Hogan later this month.

In honor of Hulkamania’s 40th anniversary, WWE is set to launch an array of new Hulk Hogan merchandise and collectibles later this month. The widely acknowledged beginning of Hulkamania is marked by Hulk Hogan’s win over the Iron Sheik to claim his first WWE Championship on January 23, 1984.

Hulk Hogan is one of the most iconic figures in the history of professional wrestling. He is a household name and his popularity helped make wrestling a mainstream sport in the United States during the 1980s.

He first joined the WWF in 1979 but left to pursue a career in film and television. He returned to the WWF in 1983 and became the face of the company during the 1980s, ushering in the “Hulkamania” era.

Hogan’s popularity skyrocketed in the WWF, and he became a six-time WWF Champion, with his 1,474-day reign recognized as the third-longest in the championship’s history. His most memorable moments in the WWF include his iconic match against the Iron Sheik in 1984 and his role in the first-ever WrestleMania in 1985.

Hogan’s presence in the WWF was instrumental in the company’s growth, and he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 for his contributions to the industry.
