WWE’s latest releases come less than two months after it terminated the contracts of several other Superstars, including Samoa Joe, Mickie James, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.
Strowman was the most surprising release, especially as he had just challenged for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.
“WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.”
On Twitter, Black wrote: “I’m gathering my thoughts as this was a complete left field for me as obviously we just started the dark father character but this was it, thank you so much WWE universe for allowing me to create and give you small bits of myself.”
