Roman Reigns acknowledged the RKO on Smackdown

On WWE SmackDown, Randy Orton emerged dominant against AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Roman Reigns, gearing up for their fatal four-way match for the undisputed WWE universal championship at the Royal Rumble.

The pay-per-view event next Saturday is now confirmed to feature a world title match, following the contract signing by all involved wrestlers on Friday night.

SmackDown began with General Manager Aldis initiating the contract signing for the undisputed WWE universal championship. AJ Styles was the first to be introduced and promptly signed the contract, followed by Knight who also added his signature. Orton was the last challenger to sign.

However, things did not go as planned for Reigns. His entrance music filled the arena, but only his special counsel Paul Heyman appeared at the entrance. Heyman informed everyone that Reigns wouldn’t sign the contract as their lawyer hadn’t reviewed it yet. Aldis warned that if Reigns didn’t sign, a triple threat match for the vacant title would be arranged. Heyman criticized Aldis’s performance as GM and claimed that the board of directors would never strip Reigns of the title, stating that “The Tribal Chief” was in charge.

At the end of the show, Orton beat Solo Sikoa by pinfall, executing a well-timed RKO. Uso’s attempt to interfere was stopped by Styles and Knight, setting up Orton to surprise Sikoa with an RKO.

Post-match, tensions flared among the three challengers. Knight struck Styles with a punch, while Orton hit Knight with an RKO, followed by delivering another to Styles. Roman Reigns then appeared and floored Orton with a Superman punch. At ringside, Aldis presented the fatal four-way contract to Reigns, who signed it. However, instead of respectfully handing it back to Aldis, Reigns arrogantly threw it on the ground. As he turned to spear Orton, Reigns was caught off-guard and received an RKO.
