The WWE has announced that the Elimination Chamber event will be held at the world’s largest pillarless superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, Feb.19, 2022.
The Elimination Chamber taking place in the Kingdom has been in the works since WWE put on the Crown Jewel event in November 2021. Crown Jewel tested the waters and featured a Hell in a Cell match between Seth Rollins & Edge.
The Elimination Chamber was introduced by then-Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff in November 2002 at the Survivor Series event. The match was won by Shawn Michaels, who had returned to the ring following a four-year hiatus earlier in the year.
The most recent Elimination Chamber match took place in February 2021. On the show, Daniel Bryan won the first Chamber match, before immediately challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Drew McIntyre won the second to retain his WWE Championship, before The Miz cashed in Money in the Bank to claim the gold.
